Brett Goldstein on JLo, "All of You," and Harrison Ford

Brett Goldstein, known for his roles in hit shows like "Ted Lasso" and "Shrinking," is stepping into the spotlight with a new leading role and reflecting on his experiences working with Hollywood heavyweights.
While filming "Office Romance," a forthcoming Netflix romantic comedy co-starring Jennifer Lopez, Goldstein jokingly described the outdoor shoots in Hoboken, New Jersey, as "a nightmare" due to the relentless paparazzi. He lightheartedly suggested future collaborations with JLo should be confined to indoor sets.
Before audiences see him alongside Lopez, Goldstein stars in "All of You," a sci-fi romantic drama now streaming on Apple TV+. He plays Simon, one half of a pair of college friends secretly harboring feelings for each other. His co-star, Imogen Poots, instantly clicked with Goldstein during casting calls over Zoom. He described their connection as feeling like they had known each other for a lifetime.
In "All of You," Poots' character, Laura, takes a soulmate test, leading her to Lukas (Steven Cree). Laura marries Lukas and has a child, but her feelings for Simon persist, resulting in an affair. Goldstein, who co-wrote the film with director William Bridges, emphasized the importance of portraying Lukas as a sympathetic character. He wanted to avoid the typical rom-com trope of making the "other guy" unappealing to justify the affair. The goal was to create a complex situation where viewers could empathize with everyone involved.
Goldstein and Bridges developed the concept for "All of You" over a decade. Filmed in 2023, the movie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024.
Balancing the promotion of "All of You" with attending the Emmys and filming "Ted Lasso" Season 4 keeps Goldstein busy. He teased that the new season of "Ted Lasso" will be "really good."
Goldstein also shared his admiration for Harrison Ford, his co-star in "Shrinking." Despite working with Ford for three years, Goldstein remains in awe of the iconic actor. He described Ford as lovely, disarming, and charming.
